1. Hi Louisy, would you mind telling my readers when and where you were born and what is your nationality?
I was born on April 14, 1978, I'm French and an island girl, born in France my parents were born both in Martinique.
2. At what age, did you discover your passion for singing?
I bathed in a family musical universe with the influence of my musician father
I always had some vocal abilities without knowing what to do, ways to use my voice in a particular way.
I remember between the ages 9-12 I think, I felt a physical emotion with a version with the harmonica played by my cousin of "A porcelain summer" by Mort Shuman ...
It did not leave me
I felt so many things, too many things, an upheaval so intense, that this moment became the start of my musical ambitions.
3. As my readers may not know, but you started in the French TV series Popstars to form the group L5. How was this experience?
It was strong, a tsunami to start a career! Everything was magic! Before you can even formulate your artistic intentions you are propelled towards the general public as icons of the French pop.
What was more beautiful and strong is to live it as 5 and share the success we allowed ourselves, each at our own pace to adapt with time to our new life of "Pop Stars”.
4. Are you still in touch with the rest of the group?
With Coralie, we learned during these 7 years to know each other better We lived together, share and cross lots of moments of our private lives ...
It has become a friendship that has lasted ever since ... beyond the group and it’s success.
5. Many times, groups end up separating. What was your main reason for going solo
Our record company has given us our contracts by proposing to release a "Best Of" to close this adventure and this is what we did then.
The girls all moved and returned to their respective cities to find their families, friends...
I stayed alone in Paris with my house that I had to stay in despite everything so I decided to get back to work quickly without wasting time and 9 months after this "Best of" my first album Solo "The season of love" was made.
6. For my readers who have never heard your music, can you explain your sound in 4 words?
My sound evolved from the L5 era to now (in 18 years), but today it's very clear I would say
Afro, Caribbean, Pop, and True.
7. One of my favorite songs from you is "Assis par terre", what inspired you to write this song?
It was written by Lionel Florence when I made my first solo album with Pascal Obispo
My life at that time was wow! I don't even know how to say it. I bet everything on this album.
It was a matter of the little things I felt that I should not lose the conviction that I was going to make it, because I felt the positive energy that brought me back to the making of this album that I believed deeply in but, in parallel I sold almost everything that furnished my home day after day, a sofa, chairs, a TV .... until this album came out and became the success we know ... "Assis par terre" is a song that expresses all the torment we experience when we are in adversity and all the richness that can be felt when someone smiles at you understands you and hands you a hand .....
8. After accomplishing so many things, where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Can be Au Soleil, to write other new songs.
What is beautiful and magical for me in this business is that everything is possible!
