Natural Hair Goddess

The natural hair community has grown enormously everytime you turn you see a natural hair goddess I find it very magnificent and I’m proud to be part of it I've been natural for 5 years, but for the past two years, I’ve actually started caring and loving my natural hair thanks to my 4C sister Lyn @bronzed_gawdess. She’s been extremely helpful and supportive throughout this amazing journey.

Loving your natural hair is more than just that it’s loving yourself, your roots, and becoming comfortable with who you are as a black woman. There was a time when every girl permed their hair for the reason that society made us believe using creamy crack was being beautiful. You know the silky straight soft hair look! Now looking back I beg to differ that shit wasn’t beauty more like a struggle in the making and guess what!? I’ve been through a whole lot of it since my ass was addicted to that creamy crack lol, from burning my edges and scalp to having no damn edges. Can you imagine no baby hair to swoop! I remember there was a time when my mom was braiding my hair I couldn't stop flinching because my damn scalp had so many scabs it was so painful. As a result of feeling, I wasn’t beautiful with kinky hair and thought people would make fun of me. Now I'm like fuck what they think about my hair.

Going through the transition isn't as easy as some people make it seem, it takes a lot of trials and tribulations. After 5 years, I finally got the right hair regimen for my 4B/4C hair. My regimen consists of co-washing, shampooing, and deep conditioning weekly in six sections. Protein treatment every 4-8 weeks. Moisturizing my hair daily with my spritz (water, leave in conditioner, and glycerin or aloe vera gel), and nightly 3 times a week with heavy oil like castor oil. As far as natural hairstyles I stick with only two hairstyles my favorites which are high puff and twist outs. I'm not the type to do a bunch of natural hairstyles but, I do love protective hairstyles such as cornrows, box braids, and last but not least my wigs! One thing I learned is to have healthy hair you need to be healthy and by that, I mean exercising considering it increases circulation which stimulates growth in hair follicles, taking your vitamins, eating healthy, and drinking plenty of water. Once I started doing all these things my hair got thicker, stronger, and longer.

Remember queens don't let anybody say the hair that grows on your head isn’t made for you it’s perfect just the way it is all you need to do is water it and let it flourish into a beautiful garden. You will see how much you’ll end up loving yourself even more.
